WHAT IS RYLA?
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary Club and districts where young people can develop leadership skills while having fun and making connections.
We aim to help our youth realise their full leadership potential through a variety of activities, both indoors and outside, to develop them as individuals, as team members and as team leaders.
RYLA is a unique opportunity to experience and learn things about yourself, about working in a team but more importantly about leading other people. The skills learnt at RYLA are invaluable assets that will serve you throughout your life and career.
 
D9400 RYLA Programs
There a number of RYLA & Youth Leadership programs in district 9400, all coordinated by dedicated teams of Rotarians who work closely with the district RYLA committee to ensure the protection and safety of our youth and that the highest standards are maintained in our programs.
Participants are selected and sponsored to attend RYLA by Rotary Clubs from across the district.
 
All RYLA programs include a core curriculum which includes the following topics:
•         The fundamentals of leadership
•         The ethics of positive leadership
•         The importance of communication skills in effective leadership
•         Problem solving and conflict management
•         What is Rotary and what does it do for the local community
•         Building self-confidence and self esteem
•         The elements of community and global citizenship
•         Issues of local relevance
